For cars with frameless door windows, it allows the glass to slot into a channel so it doesn't bow out at speed. Also increases anti-theft security because you can no longer just peel the window out enough to reach in and unlock the door.

If they're doing this to FRAMED windows, that's indeed stupid. But it has a purpose on frameless windows.

What usually fails are the microswitches in the door handle, BTW.

You need to come to more rallycrosses then Hard cornering and slosh and stuff conspire to randomly cause lots of oil consumption... I recall one person whose engine was full of oil in the morning, but had only two quarts in the crankcase when he rechecked it AFTER it developed a rod knock.

This is not a tune issue, this is an oiling issue.
