Try searching for Carter AFB, its probably a copy of one of those (those are mostly what edelbrock sells).

I had one on a car a couple years ago. I rebuilt it in a hotel room, and I'd never touched a carb before.

The main thing I didn't like is that you have to replace the jets vs. turning a screw to adjust them. It was horribly oversized for the car mine was on('62 Tempest 4-cyl), so I can't say much about it's performance.

it's a Carter AFB carb with an Edelbrock logo on it. it was engineered in the 60's and is and extremely simple design, with calibration changes like metering rod changes able to be done by merely taking off the air cleaner and removing a screw for each rod.

it's not really a mechanical secondary carb- the secondary butterflies on the bottom are mechanically activated, but the air door over the secondaries opens based on air flow so it only gives the engine as much air and fuel as it needs at any given time.. the rate of opening of this door is adjustable with a screw on the side of the carb somewhere, and you can adjust how much fuel gets added via the secondaries when they open.

you can (well, you could as of a couple of years ago..) download a manual for this carb from www.edelbrock.com and you can get a rebuild kit anywhere. Edelbrock sells tuning kits with different jets, metering rods, and springs as well as low profile fuel inlet fittings and other accessories for them.

Search for Edelbrock 1406. There are a few places online to download the manual and plenty of forums on tuning for particular engines/applications.

I've got one of these on my early Bronco. Stock it is WAY overjetted for a stock small block 302. I have dropped one step on both the main and secondary jets and changed the metering rods and springs and still may drop one more step. It seems to be a very tune-able carb and very easy to pull apart and change rods, jets etc.

I ran one on my 70 Impala on top of a stock 350. +3 on the carter connection, but you should be able to get real info from Edelbrock on it. You might also check the Summit or Jegs website for documentation.

good carb, solid and dependable, ran great. I never could do better than the stock tuning, but I didn't fiddle with it much. Seems like every change i made was for the worse, so I just let it be.
