In my search for new tires in 195/60/14 I have found a Cooper off-brand Eldorado. I'm looking at the Doral SDL, UTQG is 280 A-A, tread patern is D in the chart below.

Anyone used Eldorados before? Thoughts, alternatives?

Last week I went to the tire shop with a blow out off of my Econoline 150 and asked for a "cheap tire for a van that gets less than 4k a year"

The next day I picked up my wheel with a ElDorado Golden Fury on it. Review; The front end is as loose as a 19 year old Ford van should be and it hasn't blown up yet...

There was a fellow running HS-street tire in Detroit (Jack Cooper?) a few years back that was pretty quick on El Dorado Dorals. On a Dodge Dakota.

He didn't really like them, but they seemed to be pretty effective. Faster than I was with my Ford Focus on Goodyear "Screaming" Eagle RS-As, at least. I'd like to think I've gotten a little faster since then, but it was a great lesson in the importance of driver over car.
