Fresh from setting a sub 10-minute lap at Germany's Nürburgring Nordschleife (the first electric car to do so), the tough looking MINI E then made its way to the Festival of Speed and now the Goodwood circuit to prove that electric cars can be fun and fast as well as clean and quiet. Its 150kW/201bhp electric motor is identical to the one featured in the road-going MINI E, only this time it's housed in a body that is 225kg lighter thanks to every panel excluding the roof being swapped for a carbon-fibre alternative, as well as fripperies such as air-con being ditched. Peter Krams, who has headed up the race car project, won't say how much this all cost but assures me it's less than I'd think.
