I had no idea this was even a thing.
1981 Jet Industries Electrica 007 electric car. Car was built all electric from the factory using a Plymouth Horizon body. WAS NOT a Conversion. It was one of only about 70 cars produced in that body style. Car sold originally for $85,000.Have original manuals for the car.Car only has 10,700 miles. Car uses 20 6 Volt golf cart batteries, 5 in the front and 15 in the back. Batteries all need to be replaced. Good candidate for a battery upgrade.Has dc to dc converter, newer battery charger and controller. With a manual? I don't know enough about EVs to know what I want to know about that set up.
I have been hunting for one of these local for years. I'd love to put some Simi modern batteries and a controller in one. I drove to VA for one 3 years ago to get there and the title for the car was parts only.
I drove the Duff Beer car around the paddock. It's an odd feeling driving like that.
Wow, I can't believe that one is still for sale. I posted it here a year or two ago from pgh Craigslist, I think they wanted more money then, but same car and location

I imagine that the batteries weigh more than the rest of the car !

Even wilder; two Tesla batteries probably have more power than the entire pack.

There's no clutch- it's all direct-drive and you just bang it into gear. Just remember to NOT be accellerating when you do it.
