I will have an empty trailer going from Harrisburg PA to the challenge. Traveling south via I-83/I-95.
Not looking to get rich, but diesel costs money. Not a bonded carrier, but I know what I'm doing. Having said that, if you want to protect your investment, it's on you.
Trailer is a 7000-lb dual axle flat bed. Approximately 16' x 84" with ramps. No winch. No sides on the trailer, so loose cargo would be tough.
Being towed by 3/4 ton shortbed that (so far) has an exhaust and possibly an engine/trans being transported in the bed.
Coming back, the trailer will be occupied with a car, but the bed might have some room.
Leaving Harrisburg around mid-morning Oct 20th. South via I-95
Returning Oct 25-Oct 31 (moseying and stopping to see friends) via Atlanta, Asheville, Beckley WV, Pittsburgh.
Oooof. Its a lot further than I thought, 4.5 hours one way.
Yeah, that adds a day to an already 32h trip. If they can get it here, I can take it.
Check out uship.com. You can bid on shipments as a carrier. I used uship once to ship a car. The carrier was delivering airplane wings in my direction and was able to swing by and pick up the car.
I'll check them out. I had assumed it was only bonded carriers, but I just signed up.

Curtis - I tried sending you a PM but am guessing it didn't go through. Would you send me a PM?
It's a long shot but after checking the cars for sale thread, I may have something to head south to the challenge to be campaigned and then driven back to Maryland.
Curtis - Trying again to see if I can get in touch with you. Would you shoot me an email at address of tuckerryals followed by the URL of yahoo?
email sent.
I've had trouble with yahoo and PMs in the past.
downshift, what did you buy?
Anyone have a empty trailer going from Florida to Texas? Lol I have a Jaguar XJS in Summit Point WV waiting for me
In reply to Curtis73 (Forum Supporter) :
Nothing I bought, but someone is looking to come in from Utah to campaign a vehicle. I have a vehicle (the 93 EGT) that won't be competitive overall, but it won't embarrass itself in the autocross. If they're willing to drive it back north, I'm willing to send it south.
