It has air brakes. I could be wrong, since I'm not that familiar with trucks this old, but I don't think it has wheel cylinders.

Seller: said: 1949 Ford F-6 dump truck with a Detroit Diesel 3-71 engine. It has air brakes, a five speed transmission and a two speed axle. It runs and drives good and the dump bed works well. It goes down the road just fine up to 45 mph !
All I can say is, if it fits your budget and requirements how could you not? Old trucks are just plain cool. Practicality is often over rated.
Agreed, that is too cool to not buy if it works for you! Just did a bit of quick research on the engine, 2stroke 3cyl diesel; that alone mandates that you buy it!
That cool old truck has probably been in my dad's shop (on th e property he bought from a long time diesel mechanic in Wooster).
Do it.
if it checks enough of your boxes to be a serious contender, then i look forward to the build thread!
I think you should buy this one. Small block Chevrolet engine, which isn't as cool as a Jimmy Diesel, but much easier to work on and upgrade. Similar two-speed axle and four-speed tranny, though. It's near Dayton, Ohio and priced about $2,800. Disclaimer: It belongs to my dad.

And the dump bed works.
