I searched but got nothing. Has anyone made or found a good table for engine information? Something that listed types (v or I), cylinders, size, and maybe what transmissions work with it? Seems like everyone on here knows something about some options. But it would be neat if there was a repository for all this information!

I would agree. This forum needs the data base put somewhere other than our petrol fueled brains.
I think we should also add what transmissions are possible via known adapters.
