This isn't going to be really easy.
I am hoping to work with someone who is capable of running the necessary calculations, and perhaps computer modeling a cage for a Challenge car.
It is an unusual car, which won't be able to be done with the typical guidelines for cage construction in the rules.
I'm OK with some creative solutions, I'm trying to build a car that will be reasonably safe.
I am short on money, and it is a Challenge car, so I am hoping to have someone on my team to help with this.
I will end up building the final design, so it could be a great real-world practical application. It could be a good work study, or an opportunity to see your design get built.
I've got plenty of ideas, and solutions I believe will work, but do not have the ability to model it or prove the calculations.
I can deliver every dimension necessary, accurate sections, etc. Just need the modeling.
Anyone wanna give it a shot?

I would love to help out on this. I have a copy of Pro-E and ANSYS (finite element analysis software) that I haven't used in a few years. If I can get both of the software packages to work on my new computer, I'm in.
Where are you located? I'm kinda in a weird spot because we are moving to Africa in July, but I would still love to be able to draw some stuff up for you.
I haven't done it in a few years - would be a great chance to dust off and actually use the degree.

I am in south GA, but I am pretty sure most of what I need could be done long distance.
If you end up finding a primary designer who works with Pro/E I could help bounce some ideas around. I'm fairly busy (baby) but have access to pro/e and a lunch hour to work on things. I've designed and built some fairly crazy stuff out of pro/e and have all the necessary experience to help with any aspect of the design. I'm closer now to you than before as we moved back to be closer to family in Central IL so like 6 hours closer than when I came and got the Subaru.
If you want shoot me a message, I have Solidworks with the FEA package as well as a bit of experience with a Formula SAE chassis.
I've been using ProE for years, and modelling a cage would be very easy, but I don't have the ability to do the stress analysis. Let me know if I can help you in any way.

SVreX - could you send me that PM again? Got caught in the spam folder and I deleted it.
