Haha, I was just seeing what's out there. I might not have the money to compete in the challenge so i was just seeing what was out there. I REALLY want a Miata or a RX7. If the price is right or the trade is right I would sell/trade it.
coming from a guy who has NEVER finished a project car... If you can get the dang thing together and enjoy it for a bit...
my truck isn't either... there is always next year... but I think more then anything just getting to drive the beast would be a big help... also prob a lot easier to sell it running... although peices may be worth more lol
Bummer that the car isn't gonna make it. You've certainly put in the work on it. As someone said... there's always next year.

I did, and then I got a speeding ticket that's $200. That would have payed for the last couple of things I needed

I'm probably going to keep it unless the right deal comes up. It's my baby and I'd hate to part her out.

I want to go really bad. I might go up and stay by my aunts because I doubt I'll be able to get a hotel room. I don't know if he's going, because he's always busy.

Yeah that's true.

What's that supposed to mean?

You scored a classic Z car with sellable parts for $400 (which I assumed ran?) Early Z cars were my first love/car and I was excited to see someone your age taking interest in a classic/rare Z at the challenge. GRM adores the classic Z as well. Easiest thing would have been the 280zx turbo swap as an entry level build. Not trying to be harsh but I was just jealous of your initial purchase and great find( Z cars here in Cleveland have returned to the Earth via rust) If I lived in the Florida heat I probably wouldn't work on cars anyhow, See you at the challenge!
Haha, I'm still working on it. Still haven't gotten any good offers yet. Right now it's got the L24 from a 240z, and that's the motor that I'm turboing because it's got work done to it. Maybe next year (:/)
It's picyure time :D Here's some pics I took last night.
Engine bay pics:
Exterior pics (The paint didn't stick well on the fenders, and I had masking tape on the fenders, so when I pulled it off it peeled some paint with it. She needs paint anyway :( )
Interior:
Yeah, slowly but surely. I have to go pickup my carbs and buy a fuel pump and she should be going for well under a grand I still have to paint the floors, permanently bolt the seats in, install fuel pump and lines, finish wiring, and figure out why it has a reverse rake. Then she should going
Wow it's been 2 months lol Well I've polished the carb top hats, painted the manifold black, built an exhaust, cleaned up the interior, and realized my custom paint job sucks lol. I just finished up the exhaust on the Z. From the it goes straight into a Borla ProXS, and then straight 2.5" with a turn down right before the diff. Hopefully it sounds good, but for $0 I can't complain no matter how it sounds The damn place that told me they had the rebuild kit for the carbs ended up having the wrong ones, which set me back another day I was hoping to get everything on today and hopefully have it running tonight I'm just gonna go get gasket paper and make my own gaskets and hopefully everything goes right. I can really work on it that often because I have school 5 days a week and then I work on Saturdays. Slowly but surely, the only things that are left is to rebuild the carbs, buy another slave cylinder (those things hate me lmao), get a fuel pump, and buy rear shoes and the hardware for it. If anyone wants to donate to the parts list let me know
Yea, I've realized that I can't let go of my baby. I got a really good trade offer that I turned down to keep it. A guy wanted to trade me an '85 Corolla GTS with a 20v motor, and I told him no
Speaking as another one man band, sometimes you just want to throw in the towel. I was ~ 2 years late, take it from me: just keep pluggin' away.
