European People's car vs thread. Part 1

Since I enjoy these threads and like a lot of the cars that gave Europe its wheels I am going to do a series of vs to see which car GRM thinks is the bast of the "people's cars" from Europe.

First up, the little two stroke powered car from the East German, the Trabant

Versus from England, one of the main cars to give England its wheels after the war, the little Morris Minor.

Edited because I decided the Riva was too new.

I'll take a Trabant.

Here's a German joke for you:

Hey, what do you call a Trabi up a hill? A miracle.
What do you call two Trabis up a hill? A mirage.
What do you call ten Trabis up a hill? The factory is up there.

That said, how can you have this thread without the Mini, Beetle, and 2CV?

I have to go Minor, though I think the Trabi is neat.

Rowan Atkinson makes a good case, sort of.

Ok so I am not exactly doing a bracket but it is going to have a European "People's" car champion at the end rather then just never ending.

Ok so this is still tied someone decide this one.

I don't really like either, but if i was held at gunpoint, i'd take the Trabant.

When can we talk about Ladas? I like Ladas.

Morris Minor. My first car was a light blue 2dr. I later bought another one that was owned by a guy that had one equipped with a Sprite 1275, rib case gear box, and disc brakes. That is a very usable car.

Trabant. Boxy is foxy and its a two stroke.
