I heard from the owner of our 1919 Franklin--our Lemons winner. He made it back to St. Pete, Florida, just fine. He drove the car up and back to Road Atlanta--about 1000 miles roundtrip at about 40 mph. That's dedication.

After Road Atlanta I headed to my parents' house. Partway there I had to stop and rinse my contacts. Thanks, pollen. While at the rest area I changed into a fresh shirt and brushed my teeth--yeah, did that in the parking lot. That all made a huge difference.

Spent the night and part of the day with my folks before hitting the road again. Got home around 8:15 last night.

Took about an hour to get outside Atlanta, definitely easier to drive straight through Atlanta on 75 than to try getting anywhere on 85/285. Another 6 and I was home by 10pm. After driving the 350Z to Gingerman the prior weekend and to the mitty this weekend I think I put more miles on it in the past 10 days than the past year. Tripped over 180k miles on the odometer this trip. She has aged well.

Thanks to all who came out---- it was a blast seeing all of you.   Big thanks to Evildky for letting my brother Ken take a parade-lap ride along in your Z--- he loved it!

What an amazing weekend--- perfect weather, thousands of fans and killer cars everywhere.   The trusty old M3 ran like a champ (better than a Champ actually!) and was a joy to drive through the GA countryside on the way home.   It was also a lot of fun acting as the "chase" car during the parade and touring laps.

Here's the crowd ready to head on track for the Coker Tire and Porsche tours on Friday.  Tons more pics to come!

I was lucky in that my route away from Road Atlanta was south and then east--I totally missed Atlanta and even Athens. Still, wish I had some time to visit either one as it's been way too long. Next trip, right?

We left the track around 1pm Sunday, rolled into the compound around 2am, whipped but had a blast. Always great to catch up with the GRM staff and crowd.
