What is the benefit of a solid axle?
Edit: I'm so new I'm not sure what it has. Maybe it currently has a solid and you are proposing an independent.
It's not actually a solid axle - it's a pair of anti-roll bars that are so stiff that the suspension movement in roll is minimal
John, another note. The weathertech floor mats are very sticky, it's weird. First floormatts I've had like that. Ive washed the crap out of them but they are tacky to the touch.
You really gotta drive around with music playing in this car, otherwise you'll be like wtf is that noise?? I'm pricing putting g a custom double din with android auto in there.
The tailgate lift support strut on my Volvo 240 failed in spectacular fashion causing a broomstick to go flying and crack the prius windshield in two places.. So now I'm at a auto glass shop paying for that.
My life motto - spend money today, spend money tomorrow
I followed this thread on Priuschat and downloaded the special Prius Software that you then use with the Android app, Torque. It requires the premium version of Torque ($4.99 one time).
Now with my cheap Amazon OBD2 adapter and my phone I can see all kinds of amazing Prius specific data. Some of my favorite data points are highest volt reading on a bank in the Hybrid battery and lowest voltage bank. It will give the reading of each bank if you want also. All my 14 banks are within .3 volts of one another.
If you are Prius shopping, this would seem to be a great way to see the health of the battery before buying.

Still trying to envision how that happened...
+1 on the motto
Part stupidity, part bad luck.
Driving around the Prius makes me really do miss my 240. There's a certain cool factor to the 240 that is just non existant in the Prius, despite the 240 being a complete pile of junk compared to it. Gah, I'm tempted to keep the 240 and pass the Prius to my sister or cousin. But I'd be nuts and the next time I have to jack up the 240 on my small small gravel area to work on something in freezing weather I'll be cursing that decision.
If you still need tires, check out Keke's tires at 3802 Atlantic Ave. They probably have tons of tires that would fit the Prius, just check the build dates on them.

Just do what I did: Admit the Prius is too good to get rid of even though youd usually rather be driving something else, and then leave it sitting around for the times when you want/need it. I appreciate mine every time i decide to get into it, but that may be because i'm not asking it to be my do-all-be-all car or even my primary car. It's like one of those trust exercises where you close your eyes and fall backwards. I don't spend much time doing that, but it's nice knowing Prius will be there for me.
