Gotcha, I'm building a race chassis Exocet so this is relevant to me... I always forget about the welded steel floors vs aluminum.

Exocet has a substantially larger than 1" door tube. The floor has the square.
I do not think any unibody car would perform any better than the Exocet did in a hit like that.

Looking at the hit again - the Race chassis has the main top tube right about where this thing took the hit. So it probably would have turned out to be significantly stronger, as it would have transferred a lot of force to the other side of the car.

Main hoop looks like it ties in right at the dash bar (looking back at the pic posted with it in red) Im not sure what it would have done. The halo hoop definitely would have helped though.
The bar that goes across at the top, whatever you call it.
