Im a Physics major at San Diego State Univ. and a fabricator, i also do some CAD work on Solid Works, and am learning machining. I want to do Research and Development, own my own company. Ive been trying to expand my contact area and get more business but to not much avail. I use Facebook and all that crap to advertise, and also have a website, (not a good one mind you), and am interested in ideas to help increase the amount of business i get. any ideas? thoughts, concerns etc. thanks
maybe try gettign in good with the members of a car forum (like hondaforums or nasioc or something like that, GRM people are different and do their own stuff a lot of the time, but maybe some fab work for members here will help boost your rep as well)
alot of people on one car forum will also be another for their other cars, and doing a good job on something could make you their "go-to" guy for fab work. then they get things for their other car as well. then people on both forums are asking where they got that part at, then people are lusting after the same thing the first people had, or the same port that the first people had done. hopefully this makes sense lol
this is assuming that you are fabbing car stuff..
If you read through some of the stories.. people like Condor Speed Shop started out with a Challenge car and started producing the parts they made for their car

Focus Grasshopper. You have said a lot in that paragraph but you didn't say what your business makes, researches or develops. What are you advertising? Not to be an ass but - if your website and advertising have the same message as this post - how would I ever find you to fulfill some need I have? Google has no osmosis capability as of now so I'll need a specific search term.
