That is their service/transport truck. They sent it after broken trucks and trailers. Trailers they will drag up on top of the truck when necessary.
Because this is how you take a boat and a travel trailer on vacation in states that don't allow double towing.
IIRC the top deck is rated to 1500 Lbs. So it would have to be a very light weight car, great for sport racers or Vees.

To me, this looks like a reinforced front structure.

I'm pretty sure I'd die at some point trying to get out of that jeep.
I've actually operated one of these before. Used by field managers for transporting trailers. Heavy weight up top no go. We weren't allowed to put 6x12 on them. Trust me it drives sketchy with 2 5x8 on it.
Oh and when I was there in late 2000s they received new motors about once a year. Head gaskets would blow easily every 60k miles
I know a guy who bought one of those to transport his two MG Midget race cars to the track. It seemed to work great, and looked impressive.
Stampie, you could haul tons of car projects all over the country for people with that. It could pay for your Challenge cars, or at least keep your bar well-stocked!
In reply to Danny Shields (Forum Supporter) :
That sounded fun until I realized I don't have enough time as it is to work on my Challenge cars much less if I"m driving all over. But a well stocked bar is always a good thing. Looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks.

I feel like that Jeep might get decapitated on a bridge overpass someplace lol...
Also looks highly unstable. I wouldn't want to transport something that heavy up there, even if the frame can hold the weight.

Whoever buys this watch out for spun bearings. We got a 2011 E450 box truck supplied by the state for use in MCI/disasters. 9300 miles. Someone drove it to a skilled nursing facility due to covid and says it slowed down then shut off while he was driving it, and he killed the batteries trying to get it restarted. We think it spun a bearing. When we got it started it made a hell of a racket. I did some research and found some earl 6.7s have tangless main bearings that can spin. We maintained the heck out of this thing so it wasn't a lack of maintenance on our part.
