As part of the k24 swap in my 89 Civic track car I am using a generic aluminum “scirocco” radiator as the biggest thing that will fit in the available space. Air flow through the front of the car is decent and there is ducting in the bumper and core support and hood
There’s no room for the original Civic fan, I need to go smaller. The core is just about 12” high. I can only fit a decent size fan motor on one side. Most of the aftermarket fans, especially the slim ones, don’t really flow for crap in a real world setting, so I’m shopping by amp draw, size, and price.
Does anyone have any specific recommendations, either aftermarket or junkyard, that will fit this application? Thanks!
Junkyard...there's a car, starts with S... ![wink wink](https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/static/ckeditor/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/wink_smile.png)
Seriously, though - since it's a track car and you have good airflow, can you get away with an unshrouded fan on one side and leave the other for natural airflow? Use the fan only for when you're in the pits. You don't really have to worry about stop and go traffic with the AC on.

Here in the northeast I haven’t seen a Scirocco, let alone any VW older than 1995, in the pick and pull, they all rusted away long ago sadly!
Having an unshrouded fan on the drivers side is my exact plan, just a matter of picking the best fan and making brackets.
Edit: I didn't read carefully that you're looking for fan sizes as opposed to actually radiator size.
That said, summit is a good place to start. Might want to look on eBay at Ford Escort electric fans since they're popular. I have a slim fan I picked up somewhere for my 7, I'll take some measurements.
Spal does publish all their various flow ratings and drawings so you can pick out just the right one. It'll be more expensive than a junkyard, but you know you'll have good stuff. You already know that a good motor will be a big motor.
Get the biggest, fattest monster of a shrouded puller fan you can fit on the one side where there's room. Any good fan on one side would be sufficient, but you can do better than sufficient. Will a Ford Taurus fan fit?
Got some pictures. This is an 87 Scirocco radiator (Nissens 651511)

And for reference, since I have it in the shop.. A fan from a MB E320

Thanks for the measurements.
A taurus fan would be way too big.
