I've been trying to sort the bugs out on my IS300 sportcross, fixing the little irksome things that keep it from being an ideal daily.. (though the lousy mpg is likely unavoidable). One of the things I don't like about it is that the factory seat is neither supportive on the windy roads where I live, nor terribly comfortable on long drives. I've done a few skid pad events with this car and would like to do some track days at Mid Ohio, and on the skid pad I found myself sitting on top of the seat bolster on tight corners.
Ideally I'd like to replace just the driver seat with something that has more aggressive bolstering, but retain manual sliding and recline functions. I've considered replacing the Lexus seat with something from another car, but I'd probably be best served by a seat with an off the shelf rail/bracket option to make it fit. Has anyone found a seat they're happy with as far as lateral support that's not terrible for long drives? I'm maybe a bit less than medium build, about 5'9" and around 150 lbs if that helps. Also, the passenger seat will likely remain stock to accommodate various passengers, and so that I can retain the folding table function that's unique to the Sportcross.
