I saw some trailer fenders at the local supply store and though how easy it would be to split 'em in half and make flares

If you have to split them, you're not trying hard enough.

I want a minimum of 335 on all four corners.

Fenders N' More is a popular option for Locost builders.

We did this as a temporary fix on the $201X Triumph Spitfire... hopefully we will remedy that choice in the near future.

Those aren't flares, those are fenders.

They are fendered fenders.

That would have a peal.

This gives me an idea. I don't like the look of flat extensions, but if I were to cut them in half and apply a bit of English wheel magic so as to pick up shape, it might work quite well.

I also bet that the way the world works, I can buy a set of fenders at Princess Auto for less than the metal would cost me at the Metal Supermarket.

Why not start with a motorcycle fender blank for a more rounded (and better) look. Something like this below is pretty cheap too.

What are the dimensions of the fenders you are using?

We cut them in half initially and they're far too wide, I'll have to cut them narrower. Better than the other way around, though. Good product, you could make it look quite nice if you cared to. One thing though with the ones I bought (and I think they're all this way) the "outside" rounded edge is very nice, the "inside" 90* edge is not so much. If looks matter, you'll need one trailer fender per car fender.

Sweet! Thanks . . .

The one with rounded edge on both sides might be a better bet. Grab two, split them in half, trim, and attach.

Can't you cut the OP's picture on an angle to get the downward slope to that "fender" rather than it having such a flat surface?
