I've always wanted to try something like that out.
It must have been weird to have the mirrors not set up for you as the driver.

It was. To be honest I never even looked for them. Other than the first time when I was pulling out, i didnt miss them. Once driving I was super focused and honestly just did as told.
The car could have gone faster for sure! I could have as well! I profess to be no professional though and I only pushed as hard as he said I could. With the disclaimers and charges for running off track or messing up......I wasnt taking any chances!

Save your money. My wife got me one of these experiences for my birthday a few years ago. I would have been faster in my FR-S. They made me slow down waaaaaayy early, coast through the corners and rely on the automatic to shift. It didn't always downshift so it would lug out of the corners. Guy jumped on me for maintenance throttle to keep my speed through a gentle S curve. He wanted me to coast all the way through. Cool car, Ferrari 488, but very disappointing experience.
Xtreme Xperience is a great group of folks!
Your instructor is my buddy, and Bill is awesome! He runs the classroom sessions for Gridlife's Beginner HPDE program and is just a PHENOMENAL coach.
Thinkker here on the forum also instructs with Xtreme Xperience from time to time.

While I agree with some of the instruction being conservative. I realize it's not my car and it's not my life alone. He had to go out with a newb and trust his life to me. I erred in the side of conservative as I didn't want to endanger anyone or damage the car. Sure I could have gone faster but I wasn't going to try and blaze a new record. I wanted a thrill drive and I got that. I'm confident I could have done better had Bill known me but he didn't. So like I said. I'm no pro and figured I'd listen to my better and do it the way they wanted.

Yeah. Bill is a bad ass. Cool dude. I blanked and he rolled with it. Very cool guy who helped me have confidence. I learned some things and I'm thankful. Great experience! If you see him be sure to tell him I posted up. My buddy and I were talking to him about my Miata and my buddies turbo s2000.

I echo what spacecadet said about Xtreme Xperience being a great group of folks! Prior to the pandemic I instructed with them at three to five events a year. Mental from this board also instructs with them on occasion. Everyone I've worked with in that group has worked really hard to ensure that the customers have safe fun experiences.
