I did a little recon at the LKQ closest to my job today, and ran across a 1972 fiat spider. Didn't get a chance to look at it real closely, but are there any parts I should pull for re-sale? Trying to raise alittle money for my project car.
They also had a relatively complete vw bus, 2 early 80's rabbits, a bunch of e30's, etc...
What say you, GRM??
How crusty is the body and various panels (door, trunk etc) ? That's their biggest failure, like all cars of that era. Otherwise, you probably won't find much that's not readily available new.
In reply to Jensenman:
The body wasn't horrible, but I didn't have a magnet on me to check either. I was thinking maybe the carbs, steering wheel, etc would be worth the effort. Sounds like it isn't, though. Would the intake and carbs work well on a slightly larger motor if I got bigger jets? Mr. Wiki says that that year had the 1.4/1.6 in it. I was thinking a 1.8L running on E85.
Go over onto ebay, check out the completed fiat 124 auctions. Sort them by price and see what's brought good money.

carbs? as in the dual weber independent carb setup? if it's got that get them, the linkages and the intake manifold out ASAP and PM ME! look on eBay for values but they can go hundreds to $1k. How is the interrior? I know I could use some parts for the 72 spider I just bought a few weeks ago...

The interior is probably shot. The top had been left down, and its been raining on and off for the last few days here. I'm gonna run over there on my lunch break and get a closer look. I'll get back to you.

Turns out its a '78( had the single carb) and the carb was already gone. Seats were ok, panels were decent( by Southern standards ). All in all, it seems to be a decent project that someone already started. Too bad they won't sell whole cars at this yard..
