So i need to make flares on the challenge car. More like a total widebody, to be honest.
I remember something about not doing fiberglass on steel, or something like that.
My thought was to build my wheel arch out of ply or the factory wheel arches, stretch some fleece over and to where i want it to end, and glass the E36 M3 outta it. Add layers as necessary for rigidity.
What says the hive? Car has a life after the challenge, so durability is important.
Can you mention what car or is it a surprise? It may make a difference.
I made fender wells for my Samurai using hardware cloth (metal screen) as a form. It's pretty easy to shape by cutting, overlapping and tying together with wire.
I've made them by welding thick wire to form a frame. The wires I used were similar to the rods used to hold insulation up between the floor joists. Then spray foam and shape the foam with sand paper and a knife. Then lay fiberglass over it. Now you can either pull a mold from what you just made or cut out the foam and enjoy it that way.
I mean there is the Kiddie Pool option
Its for the amc spirit to cover the 27x10x15 Hoosier f40 slicks.
Im more worried about the interface between the fiberglass and steel, and having issues crop up after paint.
But the flares are gonna have to be YOUGE!
The fiberglass and metal expand and contract at different rates so over time you'll get cracking like the pic below of a glass scoop on a steel hood.

Does your budget allow for these?
I mean tractor supply usually has really good selection of trailer fenders that are metal.
Molding fiberglass onto metal isn't going to stand up long term. Can you do a wireframe for shape, and then remove the skeleton from the car for glassing, and then reattach to the car? Basically a DIY bolt-on flare? Fasteners could be visible or hidden depending on your preference.
