A Fiesta RS with 250 hp. is rumored to be in the works.
Should be interesting
You can pull 250hp with a factory-sanctioned kit from Montune that doesn't void the warranty. If they release an RS, it will be north of 250. They have proven that they mostly can tame it with the Focus.
I'll believe it when we see mules out testing. Right now, just a typical internet rumor.
We DO have a Fusion ST to look forward to, though...

Notice the quad exhausts...if you look around huge brakes and an intercooler are visible as well.

Oh wow, not sure how I missed that!
Ford sure is making a lot of cool stuff lately. Wish the Japanese companies would pick up the phone, I'd love a Fit Si.

It's a developmental mule for... "something". Not saying that it's an RS but it has disguised/tacked on flared nose and a wider track.

Lol.
Lots of prototypes rolling around places. I have a fusion with a very experimental engine. Looks just like a 13 fusion that it is.

I've been waiting for this car for so long. It's been rumored since the 1st-gen Fusion. Back then it was supposedly going to be a Fusion SHO with a twin-turbo V6 and AWD.

It wouldn't have been that hard to do since the Mazdaspeed 6 existed. Perhaps that is what the ST is?

I'm not doubting it. I'm just providing the source for the rumors.
That, and the Focus RS, and the Fiesta will be 40 next year and Ford has been doing special things for Big Round Numbers as of late.
By next year I mean 2017.
Man there's a lot of cool stuff coming out of Ford lately that doesn't involve the Mustang.
Too bad the Ford dealership here wouldn't let me drive one of the STs on the lot when they were new. Or maybe it's good so I can justify an RS sooner....

The funny thing is, there's the Mazdaspeed6 and there's the AWD Fusions and some rather important parts don't interchange.
One of the sticking points that made me reconsider against the Mazdaspeed6 was the driveshaft is apparently a failure point, is not shared with other AWD vehicles on that platform, and in Mazda fashion is nonrebuildable and shockingly expensive.
On the bright side, apparently there's enough commonality left between the Mazdaspeed engine and the 2.3 Ecoboost that the Ford parts make for cheap upgrades for the Mazdas.
My curiosity is peaked.
I don't see the business case for it, but they have surprised with the performance offerings of late.

Well, a lot of this speculation comes from the fact that Ford has stated that they intend to release 12 new performance models by 2020 (including Focus RS, New Raptor, GT350 and the new GT), so they'll have to start increasing the boost and slapping ST/RS badges on some of their pedestrian EcoBoost powered stuff, or get to developing totally new platforms/models pretty quick.
In reply to STM317:
I'll expect another Boss, Bullitt, Mach 1, & GT500 to be 4 of those offerings.
I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see the Ka end up here eventually either.
In reply to Knurled:
On a positive note, the rear LCA's do interchange.....which was good when my parents AWD fusion was wrecked and the ford part was back ordered for like 3-4mo......ms6 part was in stock.
WOW Really Paul? wrote: In reply to STM317: I'll expect another Boss, Bullitt, Mach 1, & GT500 to be 4 of those offerings. I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see the Ka end up here eventually either.
I kept hoping Ford would shoehorn the 6.2L engine into an S197 and call it the Mach 1, but alas, that never happened.
