These spec predictions are from Automobile magazine.
Weight - 2600 lbs
HP - 180 from a 1.6 l DI turbo with intercooler (visible behind the lower grill)
Power to weight ratio promises to be a little better than my Sentra (100 lbs lighter with 5 more hp). Hatchback - good for loading tires. Small and light - my favorite kind of autocross car. If the execution matches the promise, it will be in my driveway a few years from now.
That looks awesome. If its a s well done as the SVT Focus, I may be looking at one myself. That might actually pull me over the edge and make me buy a new car.

I love it. I hope Ford makes it a reality.

I like it. Although I don't think that there will be a rebirth of SVT...that car will definitely fill a niche.

Alfadriver? Any comments on this one?
I liked to Focus SVT well enough when I test drove one.
A two door hatch with performance, sweet. Too bad I won't buy a new car anytime soon.
Very tempting, it would be a hard decision between this and a 500 Abarth.
Not generally my cup of tea, but I sorta like this.
It's nice to see someone finally come out with a car that weighs under 3000 lbs again.

Other than the fact that the engine exists (1.6 GTDI), and the car exists (Fiesta) - no, not really.

Does the 1.6L ecoboost share the same block as the 2.0L version?
NICE! Is this real or just a tease?
Well, between this and the Mazdaspeed2, I hope one of them gets built.
Since there's like no chance of a Fit Type R.

Uncharacteristically coy response. "I can neither confirm nor deny......."

I'd like to see a Fiesta with the 2.0L ecoboost.
At this point, I'd be happy if they just started selling the 2-3(?) door hatch here. But, hey, if the only way to get the "sportier" body style is with a hotter engine....I'll take one.
Ford, don't tease us with this, and then sit on it for 2 or 3 years.
I'd be interested in that!
The Automobile Magazine snippet said that they would probably sell it in the 5-door version only. That would be.okay with me.

The only problem I see with an SVT Fiesta is how to price it.

I thought it was going to be $30K if they brought it to the US.
I think that you're thinking of the Focus RS.

Heh, im waiting for a Fit Hybrid. Wish the lame-ass Insight and CR-Z would get out the way and make some room for something actually cool
Looks great and if it has half the character of the Focus SVT, it will be a winner.
As an aside, always thought the Fit was incredibly over-rated. I was underwhelmed by the one I drove and am much happier with the Saturn Astra XR 3
door hatch that I purchased as a daily beater. When I spotted the cheap little wagon wheels that came on the Fit and compared them to the 18" alloys shod with P-Zeros that were on the Astra, I knew which one I'd be driving home. The much higher content, better looks, comparable economy and straight line performance combined with the much better handling of the Astra sealed the deal. Must be one of the few that thought so as Honda is still producing a bevy of ugly, underwhelming vehicles(what happened to them as they used to be one of my favorite car companies?) and Saturn(and their one year experiment with the German/Belgian built Astra) has expired.
