I say finally, because with 6 years and 180,000km on it (all of it from my wife and I, we got it new)it required its first real work. New shocks and struts, and while I was at it I got some adjustable camber arms for the back as I'm tired of the way it goes through tires. I also will do new control arms in the front hopefully tomorrow, as it's the easiest/cheapest way to get new ball joints and bushings. I want this car to fee fresh again.

Question though: Over the last 15-20,000 km it's gotten an increasingly strong pull to the right. Tire wear is not abnormal on the front, however it's gotten worse in the rear. Can rear camber/toe issues cause a pull? I would guess yes, because there's really nothing that can go wrong in the front. There is no caster or camber adjustment, so unless the control arm bushings are shot and causing sever lack of caster on the passenger side I can't figure out what else it would be. It seems to have gotten very sensitive to road crown as well. I've rotated tires a couple times and the pull doesn't change so I don't think it's tires.

Any ideas? I didn't do the control arms today, but I did all the other parts. Feels much better but still pulls to the right. I'm taking it to my local shop for my "custom" spec alignment on Monday, so I'm hoping it is just an alignment issue.

My guess would be control arm bushings or a dragging caliper if the alignment doesn't do it.

Yes! I tried to sort out a FWD 4 wheel alignment with my normal tools, I could not get it to drive straight. Took it to my tire shop and after 20 min on a 4 wheel alignment rack it drove like it was on rails.

This is one instance where there is no home cure I have found.

I had a good pull in my TTB F-150 and did all the usual repairs... Turns out it was a blown cord in the tire.
