well i have finally become a grassroots enthusiast. I am 18 years of age, and drove a 2005 ford focus zx3 for about 2 years now. My parents bought it, and i really wanted something of my own and something i could work on, after much searching through miatas, porsche 944's and e30 bmw's I stumbled apon this beauty that my friend was selling for 1500 dollars. supposebly had a new engine rebuild 6 thousand miles ago, and she runs like a champ. not the best pictures, but you kind of get the idea. i ended up buying it for 1200 dollars. would like to do the 2008 or even 09 challenge but would be a pretty far drive, (i live in socal)
i will try to get better pictures up soon.
1st problem. drivers side window wont roll up, i think its in the wiring, but have no idea of what to do. all other electronic gadgets work.
Fortunately for you and I (and a bunch of other eager folks) the $2009 Challenge is supposed to be coming out west next year! That's a good car if you want something to work on, there's about 14 bajillion mods you can do on a Fox body by my last count. Is that an auto-magic? I think I found the 2nd problem.

ahh ya the automatic, definetly its 1st major problem, im trying to find a cheap way to fix that, im headed out to a local junk yard this next week. just dont want to spend too much installing a third pedal.
I cant wait if the challenge moves out west for 2009. I might pick up something else just for the challenge. thank you for all the comments.

as far as auto-x goes, im thinking about it. I am still not sure what direction I am going to take with it. I head off to college in 3 weeks, so i need it to drive me to the grocery store and back to campus everyonce in a while. otherwise, im putting money into a savings account and making a list of all the stuff i can do to it. When i run it hard, the temp goes up, nothing too high, but still makes me a little nervous, so im not sure how auto-x will fair. It is all a little bit overwhelming. My older brother is big into drag racing, so he is pushing me that way, while i would rather go around a track. its all a matter of time and money, two things im going to be lacking when i head off to college.

haha ya, ive had already had a few spins, in deserted parking lots. going from a ford focus to this is a big change. i miss that 5 speed. but i love this car.
