Finally one of my friends understands why I like Super Sevens and why I am always rambling on about Locosts and what not. Why? He saw a Stalker with a LS in it.

He must have met the guy in Chicago. It looks like one of the Stalkers on their website with IL plates.

I probably should go and buy that $1200 miata for a parts car...

Makes it worthwhile to look into a way to implement AWD on one of those.

Of course many of the folks with the 4cylinder versions will tell you that the V6 and V8 cars aren't always fastest around the course :)

Richard: I love that vision of just blasting through the gates, backwards, in a flaming Swedish supercar V-8-powered Locost! "Yes! I'm here! Where are the women?"

EDIT: "Swedish supercar" is supposed to be struck through. Apparently this board doesn't like certain HTML tags...

Westfield actually makes a V8 model, called the SEight (play on words, the normal car is the SEi). It's intended for a Rover V8, but I've seen one with a 600 hp SBC in it. LS? No, you're not the first to think of it

I think finding the transmission might be the tough part. The T56 won't fit that well in a Seven, but a built T5 might do the job.

Notice the intake on that Stalker? It's been turned around. Nice trick that for getting the engine underhood. Also, there's absolutely no bracing in the horizontal plane in that engine bay. That'll be one noodly chassis.

I can tell you that on our local track, the 250-ish hp Westfield is faster than my 148 rwhp car. But only by 0.3 seconds, and it's on better tires too. It's not all about power.

Holly, Mary, Isis, Izanami-no-kami, whatever...

That thing is Truth or Consequenses on four rubber patches the size of your hand. I want it, even though I know it would kill me. Kinda like my girl's tattooed & pierced Death Metal friend with the great ass. Makes me wish I was 20 again, just so I'd be ready to try it.

Can you say traction limited ???

I have a hilarious mental image of that car running up to maximum speed, and finding that its top speed is not limited by power, or gearing but by traction...

Ya think?

I'm with Keith, that car would probably be a bit floppy unless there's some serious bracing (maybe mid and rear engine mount plates) that aren't easily visible.

Toyman, you buy the tubing and the beer.
