Also: There are a lot of folks putting down 700+ HP to the wheels for not a ton of money, but I dunno what the hell you'd do with all that power unless you're running drag radials
I still have people ask me if I'm going to do a pulley, long tubes and a tune, the standard upgrade.
No. It's already more powerful than the tires at any legal speed and it's too fast on track for me to be comfortable without a cage. What in God's name would I do with more power?
Sooooo. Anybody need a set of Sumitomo HTR Z somethingeruthers???

Agreed. Car came with a Borla exhaust that's actually really quiet till WFO. That's about all I need...and a backup cam...and a radar detector.

What are you guys? Canadian or something???
Ian when you can reach 90+mph in less than a city block from lopping at 35mph with what you have in your stable we'd be glad to listen.....
'What in God's name would I do with more power?' according to MazD and myself. So y'all may think this is wack, but I try to see if this rascal will get 20mpg in kinda normal intown driving.....challenge eh???
My XJR came with a new set of Yokohama Neova Ad08r. They've seen rain and did very well. But, my 380ish ft lbs of torque isn't really up there with you lol. The tread pattern doesn't really look right on my car. But, they have great grip and not so noisy.
I'm going to get a set for my Conquest. I like them that much.

I'm impressed! Damn near every XJR I've seen for sale has all seasons on it.

Impossible. We saw 21 on a couple of the long slow transits on One Lap (huge sections of 60mph two lane) but around town there is just no way. You can practically hear the fuel flowing while idling at a stoplight.
MazD , silly that's blower whine

My CL600 puts down 540 ft lbs of torque to the wheels, but currently I'm looking at downpipes etc because I want more. Really not sure what would be enough, but as it is flooring it at around 60mph is just awesome.

Two more tires and they would've been the price of the whole car!

Happy to have driven a lot of this stuff. CTS-V, XJR, check. s600/cl600 is on the list. I keep looking at the local listings that pop up and then being too lazy to go drive them. Wish i could somehow email yall the experience of driving my old Dodge Aries with 312lbft to the wheels and ~2300 lbs.. higher torque/weight ratio than the super sedans going through the front tires and a completely uninsulated interior. Spinning both wheels was boring but if you only slipped one tire in 3rd (or a bumpy road in 4th) the torque steer was.. entertaining. And you were in no way isolated from the mechanical fury of what was going on right in front of your feet. Which is of course why it's a mere novelty vs the type of DD-able 'super'-cars were talking about here.
In reply to Vigo: That right there sounds like the carney 'mad tea cup' ride on acid...woof!
After reading some trans-tune horror-stories, I'm thinking I'll treat it like a sore dick till I can find a nice manual and/or afford a Vagon.
The trick in the mean time to to figure out what's good about the auto and enjoy the car in those circumstances. If you focus on what it does badly your going to have a bad time.
What do you do with a sore dick? Lick your wounds?

Good advice! One thing I've found is that even though the downshifts take 4 hours and 23 minutes in "manual/sport" mode, the borlas do make glorious pops and burbles cruising around town

poopshovel, you mentioned elsewhere(2000challenge?) that you'd take another V1 in trade for your V2. Would you then with your newly acquired manual 6spd load it with a supercharger??
