I want to make sure that this is designed properly. I also pray i never need to test it.
I have 2 bottles with release cables. A ten pound and a 5.
I have 3 nozzles.
I have a couple of an t fittings, and braided lines.
I have an amc spirit race car.
What is the best location of the bottles? What about the activation handles and nozzles? Is there a rule book or how to on this stuff? Like i said, want to do it right.
Thanks.
Nozzles pointed at where fire is more likely. Gas tank - Engine Bay etc.
One handle where you can reach it. Another where a course worker can reach it.
Bottles wherever they make best sense with all the hard lines.
Would it bd a good idea to mount the 5 pound to the cage in the engine bay? Put the handle at the corner of the windshield?
10 pound inside the car, one nozzle at driver, one at the fuel tank with the handle also at the corner of the windshield where it will be accessible by both corner workers and driver?
I have a fire system and I have two nozzles. One in the engine bay and one behind me pointed at the accusump and the access panel to the fuel tank fuel pump. Since the tank if below the car I didn't see putting a nozzle there. If something happens to the tank and the fuel starts to leak I want to suppress any possible fire inside of the car. If I can get out of the car I'm sure I can get away from any fire as long as it's kept outside of the car.

I really need to know this as well and if it will pass spec.

Also nozzles pointed at the thing you want to burn the least -- the driver.

FTFY.
Amen. Second degree burns on the stickandballs leave scars and make your wife ask questions that you really don't want to answer.
No pictures. Sorry.

Also think about how the bottle is mounted. I think the general advice is to have it horizontal with the head toward the back of the car. You want to have the inlet tube in the bottle so it can pick up the liquid and discharge it. If you mount it vertically and you end up on your head, the system won't work right.

Keeping the stock tank, and tank fill, location? Or running a cell mounted in other than the stock location?
Rear bumper?
I mainly ask because those rear mounted tanks with the filler neck behind the license plate, are a prime location to bust off the fill neck and compromise the tank if you're rear-ended.

Stock mounted, stock filled, stock tank. Good call on the filler neck. That should probably be the tank nozzle location. About 1/2 way down the filler neck tunnel.
