My Brother is a Lemons regular mostly on the west coast. As a graduation present for each of my sons, he has sponsored them in a race. Pretty cool eh!  Last weekend was Atlanta at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.      It was my first Lemons as a spectator and as Dad although there was a time in the very way back that I had a lot of laps at Road A...     As promised, the weather was miserable.      BUT       The people were sooooo good. Genuine. Helpful. Funny.       I speak of his (their) teams, the competitors and the staff.       #2 son was on track when I arrived so I took a lot of time going around the track, taking pics and laughing. If you haven't been. GO. It is a riot. The poor corner workers must have needed buckets of xanax after each lap. Some of the vehicles were F A S T and some were sure nuff slow. Some lines pretty good. Some genuinely scary. And there were like 110 teams on the track so you know how that went. four wide. five wide. spin. crash. bump... Some crashed into others, some exploded spectacularly, some plodded along and some FLEW... If you were driving a white crown vic please be aware that the body of your car and its frame/suspension were on completely different axis / arcs of movement on every corner. And it was rather frightful to watch.    At one point we commented on the lap times and racing lines of the safety trucks. Not bad guys! And from our observation safety throughout was really on point. Like really really.     Young Zack diced with a Borgward lap after lap. Something most of us likely will never experience. And he will never forget.       The boys are much better techs than I am so they found themselves under both cars several times. And were being assisted by other teams. And they REALLY enjoyed that aspect as well.      So three thumbs up Lemons!  Really good stuff. We'll be back

Glad you enjoyed coming to Lemons. Not everybody "gets" it. I've done Road Atlanta twice with Lemons, both times in the snow. Such an amazing track. I would love the opportunity do drive it in the dry in 70° weather. One of the things I love most about Lemons is the incredible community. I've met some really cool people all over the country who I wouldn't think twice to let sleep on my couch, or who have let me sleep on theirs. Sounds like your boys got a good introduction to the wacky world of motorsports.

I also really appreciate the diversity of cars on track. Going 3 wide through the turn 2-3-4 complex with my diesel mercedes, an LS swapped camaro and a Civic is unlike anything else on earth I'm pretty sure.

Lemons really prides themselves on safety. I know some of the rules feel a bit over-the-top for what it is, but Lemons has a pretty good track record.

In reply to buzzboy :

There were a few Benzes that we checked out. As #1 son is restoring a 93 300E.    The Benzoil car was REALLY well done I thought.
