First a voltage spike…now the fridge is lame

So on my post yesterday, we had a voltage spike, a transformer blow and get replaced, a lamp switch burn out...and now the fridge is losing ground (up to 48F) and the im unit is making a whiring sound every 15 seconds or so that sounds a little like R2D2 when he/she/it is happy and content. 
Im guessing some circuit board in the bowels of this thing didn't enjoy the power antics. 
but I'm hoping for a coincidence and an easy solution. I unplugged it for 5 minutes. 
And just now the compressor kicked on so....?

Premature panic maybe. Three sessions of unplugging. Star Wars characters are quiet now and the temp is heading in the right direction 

R2D2 is obviously a he/him.  Unintelligible talk, insecurity complex, separation anxiety, anger management deficiencies, trouble expressing emotion... clearly a dude.
