Well I finally had a chance to run the '89 this weekend. Been about 10 years since I've been to an Autox event so it was nice to be back.
My old '89 was bone stock right down to 15" wheels and stock tire size...this time I was running my new '89 with nicer tires (still street meat), 96+ SHO brake upgrade, Earls lines, reinforced engine/tranny mounts, intrax springs and aluminum sub frame bushings...what a difference. Granted I was still slow, but it was less slow LOL. I was in SM because of the aluminum sub frame bushings...so I was NOT competitive in class, but I did better than some folks in far better cars (M3s, 540is etc...).
My number plates weren't done, but they'll be here in time for the next event...
Anyhow it was a damn blast and I'm, once again, hooked....now if the car could just be smaller LOL...REALLY thinking about a Contour SVT now!!!

More pics as they come in.
Cumberland Motor Club put on a fantastic event and I'm looking forward to my next one on the 29th!

+1 on your car. I auto-x a 2000 Maxima and I think it's great anytime anyone runs a four-door grocery getter! More room for your gear and sometimes I'll take two or three newbees in the car to give them pointers.
Cool car! I used to run with CMC circa 1999/2000 at Old Orchard Beach(RIP to that venue) and always preferred their events to the SCCA's. Tons of runs, good helpful people, no politics. Nice to hear that they're still that way.

I forgot to talk to you, I was in the #36 STS2 Miata. The car looked good, I saw it in paddock :). Keep coming out to the events, other sites/courses should not be as frustrating for large cars as this one was. I felt like it was too busy in the Miata, I bet it was pretty tough in the SHO. See you in Lewiston this Sunday?

I won't be there this sunday in Lewiston, but I will see you on the 29th in Freeport! Really excited to get back out there.
Hustling the SHO through Chris's modified Chicago Box was a true learning experience. Hopefully I can weld my subframe connectors on by next week.

I won't be at Freeport most likely. I'd rather run with NER at Devens that day, the Freeport lot is tiny.

That reminds me actually...I need to check with the NESHOC guys about Devens!
