Wow, that looks solid. I bet you could pull $2k if you found the right buyer.

At least one of the front fenders looks like it's in pretty bad shape and NOS ones are unobtanium. A lot of the value depends on how well the plastic front pieces have held up.

Did I mention that suspension parts aren't that easy to find either? At the moment, unless you go for custom-built Teins, you're looking at a choice of GR2 or GR2 for shocks...

Is that molding in 1 piece that's off the car? I know people who would pay GOOD money to use it as a mold. You can't find that plastic anymore, and you can't get it off of any of the cars anymore because it just breaks apart.

What condition is the other fender and the front piece between the headlights in?

$2k sounds about right for a runner. The door panel missing is a killer. If I was selling, I'd ask $2k. If I was buying, I'd offer $1k. I'd say the value lies somewhere in between.

This one looks pretty nice. Engine compartment looks clean and no rust visible. Check where the torsion bars mount. I wonder what the front looks like. 2k is probably close to what it might get with that mileage. I would have to agree with poop's comments though!

Parts cars are your friends for these. I bought a parts HF a few years back that the PO had painted orange (tractor paint as I remember). It ran and drove, but had the rust-bug pretty bad. $400 with lots of good parts...

Every day there are fewer though and prices for cars and parts will certainly go up...

I think you guys are spot on with the numbers. If it had a good same-color door trim and fender on it id say it could pull 2k. If not, between 1k-2k.

I had one and liked it a lot but you have to be a certain kind of person to really enjoy an HF vs an Si etc.

It's make a fun autocrosser

Not trying to restart that argument but i made the exact opposite point in another thread, except based on actual personal experience.

The first thing I do when looking at these cars is put my hand under the car where the drivers feet would be. If you feel wet carpeting or a piece of a stop sign, you might want to reconsider.

Mark.

i am not buying it but i could give anyone the information of the seller. he has a web site for honda parts. and BTW this is a southern car and no rot he is looking for $1,800.00 for it. he knows what they are worth whole or parted. i think after reading what you guys have said i think it would be a good car for someone looking looking a DD or a project for fun. he has over 50 of these hondas

An HF will make a better hypermiler than autocrosser, those guys love these cars, they get about 50MPG stock and can be modded for triple-digit MPG.

If I had money and a place to put it I would get it.

Hold on to it until the next gas scare and sell for $5-6k

One of our SCCA members had his '85 Civic hatch IT car in a car show with us this weekend. He too was lamenting the lack of even basic parts for it. (My best friend in the Navy had an '85 CRX and loved that thing, still hates that he sold it.)

I would like a skin that could be placed over the 1st gen crx plastic front fenders. One could be a lot less finicky about the 'structural' repair of a plastic fender if you could put a new skin over the repairs.

Not to split hairs, but "moulding" (the black strip on the door) is not a "panel" (the panel, on the bottom of the door.)
