As entertaining as the mix cds are, USBs found in gloveboxes, center consoles and door pockets can be even scarier and most entertaining.

Don't forget a bottle of hand cleaner, wear boots, keep your eyes peeled for free tools on the ground and in cars.

All good advice so far. Triple on checking pockets looking under seats ext. To me it is half the fun.

Thanks to everyone. The car looked pretty picked over when I got there but it still had a bunch of parts I needed. The only tool I didn't have was an 8mm socket. I needed it for a couple of interior things but since my car doesn't have an interior I hadn't needed it yet. I improvised and it worked.
Junkyard clientele was sketchier than WalMart at 3:00AM, but the staff was nice other than clearly thinking I was stealing from them. All in all a good experience. I'll keep my eyes peeled for another RSX and if one shoes up, go back.

Am I the only one who does a CSI on the badly crashed cars? You know, the ones with hair still embedded in the broken windshield and the bloodstained seats?

Berk no. For all I know that car is a coffin. To me those parts are tained, and will only make a car run worse. I've never had a blood stained part work.

No, I've never used a car part from a car with visible blood or skin and hair. Seems like it'd be haunted.

I'm in the medical field and we can be a morbidly curious lot.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet - but throw a can of 20' spray hornet killer in the toolbox. Those shiny happy people love to build homes under stuff in junkyards.

I thought it!

Which made me recall someone here who brought home a project car filled with Black Widow spiders.

F that!

Are those real?! That's effing scary and makes me think of the modified line from the movie "Jaws", "We're going to need a bigger flyswatter."

[Edit] Yes they are, I found more about them from this highly authoritative site: https://roadtrippers.com/stories/massive-killer-hornets-on-deadly-rampage-heading-to-america

I don't know if they are real or not. But in my midwestern imagination that's how big the hornets are in Texas.

Kind of like this spider...
