Dunno why, but I do this a lot too... always because I have 'too many cars'. Then when I sell one, I always end up with another eventually, haha.

When the ex- and I bought a new MINI Convertible in 2007, we picked up the car, drove it home from the dealer, and with less tha 90 miles showing on the odometer we proceeded to rip most of the interior apart to make it ours: custom painted dash, custom/unique shifter and e-brake boots, custom painted gauge bezels, custom stripes on the bonnet and boot; swapped out the rool-hoop covers for chrome versions. At the time, she was well know in local MINI circles for her moderately modified '03 MCS, so showing up at MINI gatherings with a "factory-built" car simply would not do.
Of things that would be less "MINI-youification-specific", a new car will get a clear bra pretty much immediately.
