This is a new thread about the 1979 Toyota Corolla, how would one go about fixing this rust? Or should I just not give it a whirl?

MIG Welder, .020-.030 solid wire, C25 gas, 18-20g steel and practice.
My E30 I just bought had this nice little surprise
I decided now is a great time to learn to fix this stuff. Starting this weekend, enough with that quitter talk!!
See those round spots on the side of the rott? There the factory spot weld. jack up the car use blocks and jack stand to suport it all then use a spot weld drill to drill out the spot welds then cut out the rott fit new sheet steel add some ribs if you got a roller weld the edges then place jack under the frame rail and push it up to the new plate and weld the hole from the drill. shim under the axle to return to proper ride height if needed.
