Was that at the Hobo Railroad per chance?

I saw one go over at Ft Devens ~2001ish. Maybe a Sentra or Focus?

I was at a drag racing event in Manila, PI. A drive shaft or front U-joint broke on a car about 2/3s down the track and the rear of car went up on over landing on the trunk.

Racing a dirt oval, coming out of 2, hit from behind on left rear, attempted to apply power and steer into it, right rear wheel walked up wall and car did a roll to the left and ended upright. Good cage, window net, seat, belts, neck protection. Bruised my left elbow. Hand to rebuild differential.

It was kind of a perfect storm deal: Hoosiers, stock sway bars, and the driver got sideways on a portion of the course where there was a drain, so there was an off-camber bit. He tried to correct, but when it found grip he couldn't turn the wheel fast enough, and it whipped the other way on him and went over.
I think this the the most common "oh E36 M3" moment we see at AX. It's not the first slide, but the buildup of energy and the snap back that does it. You almost always walk away from it, but learning that it's coming is a really useful skill. By the time you need to catch the car your run is usually shot anyway and it's often safer to ride it around than try an catch it.

I agree completely. However, whether it's the right move or not, I think it's just a natural reaction to try to save it. A spin has to be very quick for me to give up and ask Jesus to take the wheel.
