Something like this has surely been answered before, but I'll be darned if I found it.

Just sold a bunch of Ranger parts. The buyer said $250 or $200 and this turbo. He was a kid (21) so I figured he could use the money more than I could (I was expecting to get maybe $150). So I took the turbo and the $$. My first turbo other than the one that came on my Mustang back in the day. It says "MHI" on the housing.

A bit vague maybe, but I'm just looking for a ballpark answer...

Stan,

I would find out the manufacturer of the turbo and look it up on EBay or Craigslist. The value is probably around $50, but I would look it up just to be sure and of course make sure you have some sort of receipt to back up the purchase.

I did spend the evening looking around on eBay, but I couldn't find anything to match what I have. Also, I don't have a receipt for my parts...

Post a pic! We will surely be able to at least ID the turbo for you.

And I'd say its value is $50. It was used in place of a $50 bill.

Stan,

I think Robbie's answer is spot on.

The receipts are for Challenge record purposes, correct?

Any thoughts on the turbo?

Maybe I should start a new thread...

Looks pretty small, especially the compressor (though I'm just assuming most wastegate actuators are about the same size, there's not a ton to base a relative size assessment from in the pic).

Also looks like it does not have the "standard" flange T3/T4 to mate to exhaust manifold, etc. Possibly from a newer car with a stock turbo on a small engine. Is it a dodge/fiat 'multiair' turbo?
