So a 60K ATS-V is way too much but a 40K Focus sounds about right??? Ooookay
Love this white + blue. If this was a coupe I'd be all over it.
Is the MPG even listed? Wondering whats the downshot of AWD.
No MPG numbers have been quoted yet that I've seen. I agree the 0-60 is a little slower than I would have thought, but then again my 3400lb, 325 hp Mustang barely gets 5.0 sec in real world testing on sticky street tires. AWD adds weight, and 345hp from a 2.3 may place the power higher in the rev range, so it may not impact the bottom end as much as one would expect.
Of course, it might just be traction-limited
I do like that white... It may be a tough decision between this and a much-more-useful truck in a couple years...
Well, I already angered the wife getting the ST since she hates the look of it and the Recaros, so there is little chance I will get one of these.

If I put $1500 down and they give me $5000 for my mustang, given that I'm already approved at under 2% on a new car from my credit union...I could be driving one for less than $500/ month.
Oh Dear.
Of course, insurance would probably be another $500/month.
When do these hit dealers again....?

Wat? I pay $770 every six months for my ST. Unless you are 22 with a crappy driving record I can't imagine it would run you $500 a month to insure.

This. I found myself thinking "You know, I could swing that..."
The available options are less than appealing, so I'd want the basest of base models. I like simple stereos and I'm fine with merely partial leather, Recaros is Recaros right?

You raise a good point, however this... device should be more electronic-diff-wizardry than an Evo, with more power, more torque, and Ford reliability instead of Mitsubishi "reliability".

Partial leather might actually be better. The full leather with the recaro bucket just really keeps the heat in. My lower back is like a furnace in the things.

Probably something about what Americans prefer like the FiST. Maybe insurance reasons. If I were going to trade the MS3 in for one I'd want the 4 door for car seats as its a hatchback not a sports car.
For those of us who are married to women that tolerate our hobbies "practicality".
I agree it should come in an obnoxious color though. That's the only thing wrong with it that I can find.

Yea, I hear you. As a forever bachelor the extra doors do not appeal to me (although the sedan insurances rate does). But if I had kids who needed a back seat to fart / rub boogers into this car would be like the ultimate daddy whip. It would be a savior while having to pick up diapers at 3 am.

A two door car the size of a Focus would be absurd.
Let's not mince around here: This chassis Focus is HUGE. This is what would have been considered a midsize car in the 80s.
4WD pseudo-rally weapons should be four doors. It's part of the fun, pretending that it's a sensible car.

Oddly enough, modern top-level rally cars are 1.6l engines in the next size class down (ahem Fiesta).
And most of the stuff that makes the RS cool is banned
(Are you listening, Ford? Do the RS treatment to the 1.6 engine and stuff it in the Fiesta with AWD. But keep the electrickery.)

Absurd you say? All the midsized cars from the 80's were awesome as two doors.
And two door cars from the 70's were awesome sauce.
I's still rather have this than any Focus

I had two GNs within spitting distance of me when I posted that. I realized it was stupid the moment I hit "Add Post". All the same, by "Midsize" I was thinking Taurus/Lumina rather than rear drive chassis. Really, those G-bodies are mostly air. You can fit an intercooler the size of a small mattress in the nose without doing any cutting whatsoever. And you get to keep the A/C.
For reference, a new Cruze has almost exactly the same dimensions as a Celebrity except for 10 inches of length. The amount of wasted space in the Celebrity's nose would account for more than ten inches...
BTW - One of those GNs is getting MS3Pro. I'm going to have so much fun
A bit annoying the only way (I can see) to get heated seats is by adding a $2700 interior package...
I don't know... I like it... and it's a heck of a lot cheaper... but at the same time it doesn't move my gut like the GT350 does.
I quit my E36 M3ty part time weekend job last week because of a grand national. On my way to work, passed one, turned my car around to give the guy a thumbs up. Was 10 minutes late because of that and my Boss wrote me up, so I said fine I put in my two weeks.

WORTH IT
We specialize in the suckers. I call them Darth Vader cars. Co-worker calls them Thing 1 and Thing 2 (or Thing 3, etc) because we always have at least one on-site. People ship them to us from far and wide.
People also send us RX-7s and RX-8s because they know "peejay works there". I prefer working on the GNs though... And thanks to all those GNs, I can with complete honesty say that I am seriously thinking of buying a Focus RS next summer.
By the way, did you explain "DUDE THERE WAS A GRAND NATIONAL I HAD TO TURN AROUND"? Because I have had to give similar reasons for being late (well, they were nookie-related but it's the same principle) and was given a high five rather than a reprimand.

Yeah, the WRC is a bit too spec these days. The Focus sure had a good run, though. That's totally what this car is pretending to be be.
