Wally may be onto something. http://shop.gopro.com/mounts/helmet-front-mount/AHFMT-001.html#/start=1
They have mounts that stick or strap onto helmets. I'm not convinced that these would compromise the integrity of a helmet, but at least "the mount did it" is more convincing than "the camera made me do it".
Edit: this article suggests the camera came through unscathed. If that's true I'm not buying this theory.
When I bough my Go-Pro, one of the features listed on the packaging was the fact that it was bomb-proof. Basically, the camera is advertised as being borderline indestructible.
Helmets are designed to not only absorb impact, but also spread impact-energy over a larger area.
I can see how the camera could potentially concentrate the impact area, instead of allowing the helmet to do its job.
But at the end of the day, it's all about inches and angles. An inch here, or a degree there, and he might have walked away.

Maybe Jr. fears that his career may not be as profitable as dear ol' dads was and the money tap may be turned off if Michael does not recover.
This may be his thought for a new source of income.
Just an assumption but based on what I've seen of most people, they become total douchebags when the see another family member as a cash cow.

According to wikipedia, Schumacher's son was born in 1999. That would make him 15, I dunno Swiss law (IIRC they live in Switzerland) but he's probably not even old enough to sue anybody without his parents' permission!
I haven't seen anything in a news report that said he was considering a suit, merely that he thought the GoPro camera was partially to blame for the injuries. Lots of people who read that jump to the conclusion that he's going to sue.
Schumacher's net worth is estimated at $800M, his family isn't gonna sue GoPro. They want privacy from the press, you don't get that by filing lawsuits and opening yourself up to discovery motions from the defendant.
Checked up recently on his condition, family is not releasing any information which most people believe is not good news

Yeah I checked last week and thought the same.
Nothing new on Andrew Palmer, either.
