Coming back for it's second Bout after going for the knockout on the Gremlin, the Ford Pinto
From the warm shores of the Med comes a new challenger. The car that set the format for the modern front wheel drive car.. the Fiat 128
Availible with a choice of 1.1 and 1.3 litre Single Overhead cam engines, it came to us as Sedan, Coupe, Hatchback, and Wagon and was the basis for Fiat x 1/9
FIGHT!
I am a fiat fanboy and this is tough.
The pinto has a decent aftermarket and is RWD.
The Fiat is FWD and has little to no aftermarket left.
Screw it. Still going with the 128. Make mine the Berlina
128 a million times over! I miss mine...

Fiat, hands down:
I taught my sister how to drive using my Dad's Pinto. I drove a 128SL for ten years.
There is no comparison.
Although I like Fiat 128's and wanted one back in the day. Got a Pinto instead, used and more affordable.
I choose again the PINTO!
Early Pinto's were really cool and very underappreciated in my opinion. I 've driven both of these cars extensively, and although the Fiat is also a pretty cool car, I vote Pinto.
Try this with a Fiat!
Fiat by a million miles. You would have to be deaf dumb and blind to pick the Pinto in this fight.

Fiat on style, Pinto on power...
Having driven none of the above, I'd go Pinto because of the layout, but if the Fiat 124 was an option I'd go that way over either of these.

LOL, I started a trend! Wheely pictures are the new thing.
I gotta agree here, RWD + turbo or V8 swap-ability makes this one easy. Pinto all the way.

What happened to your Fiat?

I'd ask you what you said and where you are, but I can't talk.

Turbo and rear coil spring suspension conversion on a small bumper Pinto would be awsome.

Gonna post this pic again. Turbo, RWD, fat rires, and I think it looks better than the Fiat, as there would be no way I'd leave any of 'em stock:
I think they are good looking compacts. Even in drag race form:

I sold it to some guy locally that buys and "restores" cars for a living. If memory serves me right, he re-sprayed it yellow, then when on to ask $5k for it. It was featured on Bring A Trailer some time ago, but everyone was laughing at him because he was claiming it was a Fiat 128 Abarth, in reality, it was a 128 Rally with Abarth decals on it.
