Hey,

Just say one of these in town.

I looks like a great City/Commuter car.

Does anyone have any experience with this vehicle (Panel trucks too.)

One of my former co-workers had the panel van version and he liked it. He used it for his side business, selling Bonsai trees. Pretty much the perfect vehicle to haul large, fragile, light cargo.

You can lay down and stretch out on the flat cargo floor of the panel version. The girls working at the ford booth of the car show thought I was a pretty weird dude. If my family abandons me I'm going to live in one.

I think it's a great vehicle that's half the vehicle it would be if it HAD A FRIGGIN DIESEL LIKE IT WAS PROBABLY DESIGNED FOR AND SOLD WITH EVERYWHERE ELSE.

I mean that part is just a guess on my part, at least until i spend 30 seconds researching and finding out im right.

I take it we can't order them with a manual here either...... Every time I see one I wonder about using one as a dd...

I just looked on the Ford site in Great Britain and it only listed three engines, ALL Diesels and doesn't even mention an automatic transmission as far as I can see !

As a truck/delivery vehicle, it most definitely is sold with diesels in pretty much every other country on the planet. In the U.S.? There have been rumors of an electric version.

My casual observation is that 99.9% are white, and the other 0.1% are black, silver, red or blue...in that order of "popularity".

Incredibly, these were once sold with cruise control, in the XLT panel and wagon versions, as a standard feature...now it's almost impossible to find one that has it. Ford...if a new product can be de-contented over time, we will de-content it. Tho, in fairness, it must be an expensive vehicle to produce.

I have a 2010 XLT Wagon. It has turned out to be perfect for what we wanted it for. Plenty of room for 5 adults with lots of cargo space. Couple of weeks ago the wife and I took her sister and her husband and 25 year old son to Lowe's where the son bought a new washing macine. No problem, loaded everyone and the washing machine in the TC and delivered it to the son's house.

If you are considering one keep in mind that it was designed as a city delivery truck. That means very manuverable, slightly underpowered, and somewhat rough riding. I made the ride better by getting some 17" wheels off a 2012 Focus and dropping the rear tire pressure form the factory 49psi to 40 psi.

Fortunately mine is the first year so I did get the cruise control. But I usually keep it down to 65 on the highway otherwise I get a lot of downshifting on hills.
