Ford V4 sources?

A co worker appears to have somehow gotten a boat with a Ford V4. AFAIK, that's the Cologne (German Ford) V6 with 2 cylinders whacked off and was the same motor used in the Saab Sonnet. Anyone know of parts sources for these things?

Also used in the Saab 95-96's.

Do a google for Jack Ashcraft, or PM subrew here....or maybe miatapowar can help as well.

I'm still searching my computer for it.

Here is a German parts supplier I have used for my 1973 Capri. Their site is in English, and I have called them before and spoke with someone whose English was very good so the language is not really an issue. Parts took a couple weeks to arrive and the shipping wasn't really as bad as I had expected.

Unfortunately, they do not list by engine type, so you would need to page through the Capri catalog for instance until you found the page for the V4 engine. The V4 was an optional engine for the early Capri in Europe.

This engine was also used in the Saab Sonnet. Do a search for that and you will find some info.

They were "powering" the full sized Ford Transit vans in Oz in the late 70's early 80's.

At one point, we bought a large pallet of brand spankin new Industrial engines. Five or six in total. The last one ended up in Fast Freddy, Jack's little '68 autocross/hillclimb Sonett, after some hot rodding.

Not too difficult to source the basics, like bearings, gaskets, pistons etc.

What's your intention with the engine?

And it's Sonett, not Sonnet.
