I normally bash on Lance, but it really sucks that it was so bad that he can't race today.  That chaos when he started must have really messed with his mind- as the mistake was pretty small, all things considered- riding on the curb a little.

Don't really understand why it took so long ot make that SC call.   Sure helped Sainz out a lot- the RB's still have to stop.

Great race. Sainz was so smart, as usual, by keeping Lando in DRS. I thought LH was fastest for the last few laps. I was impressed with Max coming back to 5th.

That was a snoozer.  Then it wasn't.  That was nuts!

Great race!

Can't wait for the next race to see what's up with red bull.

Happened to have time to watch this race live. Russell is fast but shows hints of Leclerc where they both make critical mistakes right when the pressure of near success gets into reach.

Sainz did a great job managing everything. Good win.

Yuki must be unable to understand why he never gets much hype. He has carried the team for years now but Lawson gets a point or two (like Yuki) and all of a sudden half the media commentary shifts to get rid of Yuki. With such little support, and getting blocked by redbulls in Qualifying seemed to put him in a bad mental space for this weekend.

Lewis would have taken 2nd if Russell had faltered a few laps earlier. Maybe not 1st though, just not enough laps.

Carlos' racecraft there was brilliant. I don't see him winning if he tried outright speed. That was the best Ferrari strategy in a really long time, and it was probably more him than the team.

Agreed he always has an incredible amount of awareness and even more impressive with all other competitors behind him. Excellent tire management and clawing it out until the end.

Shockingly well done strategy by Ferrari.  I'd have expected them to pit for tires with 8 to go.laugh

Merc was never winning that.  20 quali laps on the mediums to get to p3 and 4, then stuck in a drs train.  It did make it interesting.

George is gonna be crying in his great big pillow tonight.  Not even an inch of error.

It sure was fun watching Max and the boys screw up the entire weekend.

Best shot of the whole broadcast was the face of the fan in Merc clothing as George crashed.  A whole range of emotion, there.

Based on the fact that Lewis was faster than George pretty much right from the second stop, I think he might have had the chance at a win if George hadn't been in the way. Mercedes got very lucky with that timing - of course, they made some of their own luck there, they'd put themselves in a position to take advantage of that situation. Made for a heck of a finish, though. Too bad it didn't happen at a track that had a little more passing potential.

Started slow, ended up being quite exciting. And I will admit to a certain amount of joy in watching Max get passed a bunch of times after the first SC.

Wow what a race and what a weekend! AT knocking RB out in qualifying, Lawson with points, so many cars passing the RBs, and a Ferrari victory! Poor Alonso was managing a great finish until the rear jack held him as every points finisher went by. Poor Russell, that hurt.

Man, you take the flexy wing away from the RB and suddenly we have some great racing!

Thinking about it - for Lewis to take the win, George would have had to stay out on that last VSC. That would have put Lewis further up the road, and he had more speed when he caught the leaders. Of course, that strategy only makes sense in hindsight.

At the time I said leave George out for track position but pit Lewis as he had the gap behind and see how it shakes out.

Too bad George thru away good points.

Fay-rrrrrra-ree!!!

I was happy for Ferrari's win as I've been a Ferrari F1 fan since 1976. I always love when Ferrari wins because the crew belts out the Italian National Anthem.

I'm also a Hamilton fan and was thrilled he was on the podium.

I'd like to see every team run a split strategy right from lights out regardless what the people with the laptops say "should" be fastest.

Wouldn't know how it would end untill it did at most tracks :)

We've come back to win from many laps down early in an 8hr race simply because we didn't do the same as everyone else.
