Best F1 race I've seen in a long time. I'm going to call that a darn fine track, at least when nobody has a baseline.

I'm pretty anti-Vegas, but that was a really entertaining race.
I was rolling my eyes and expecting a farce after lap 1, turn 1. But the other 49.95 laps were just great! They made themselves a really nice track and it's absolutely gorgeous.
I'm not sure what the deal was with putting the guys in the Rolls and driving them around, though.
I'm confused, Max had a 5 second penalty for running LeClerc off on turn 1, and then at the end of the race there's magically no penalty to apply. What happened to it?

No during his first stop under green. He fell WAYYYY back. Which led the to GR collision and 2nd safety car that then killed his undercut attempt.
For once a 5s penalty actually hurt, but still didn't matter in the long run.
Track delivered a decent race, conditions and layout came together to make this happen and hopefully that continues in the future. Watching it not live meant I could start as the cars rolled away and skip all the other BS.
I was seeing red until they gave Max the penalty after turn 1, he was going for his classic move of be ahead at the apex and force the other car off the track but went to deep. Classic Max, not a fan and I wish the rules were changed so we could get some better side by side racing and not just force a car off and continue on.
Perez got lucky to be there at the end with the SC but I'd say looked foolish as Charles went by on the last lap.
Not sure on the timing of the SC but I feel like Charles had a decent chance to take the win had they put mediums back on his car as they seemed to work well for him and last a long time. With him staying out and the others pitting he did the best he could.
I fell asleep after the first few laps, but woke to see Charles pass Perez at the end. That seemed good. lol
Suprisingly good race from flag to flag,I did call the Max mugging into turn 1 though.
I truly don't get the its ok to run a car out of space if ahead at the apex bs,shouldn't it be like Alonso says "you always have to leave the space" :)
Happy he got a penalty even if it took FOREVER to make the decision,made him work at least a bit for it.
Another Vegas hater here but I will say that was a great race. The Max podcast from the car was an interesting twist.
My beef from the start was it was about the show not about the race but the race delivered so hard to complain.
After all the carping about the cold temps it seems it didn't really matter, it's just something you have to deal with like rain or extreme heat - just get on with it!
Good race, I really enjoyed seeing passing, not only down the field but also for the lead! Checo has to be feeling a bit of deja vu, getting passed on the last lap for 2nd place, only this time it was a red car instead of green.
I wonder if we'll see a rule change about driving someone off the track and only getting a 5 sec penalty? Something more draconian seems to be favored by the drivers as well as the teams.
I thought it interesting that during the run up to the race, the announcers said that the hard tire would not feature in the race, yet it seemed to be the right one for most of the teams and drivers.
I think the organizers learned a great deal about how to do this race, and I'm sure there will be subtle changes going forward, but the over all event turned out well. I wonder if each race will have a different casino featured - Bellagio this year, someone else next year? The trip around the track in the Rolls was a bit odd....
I also thought it fun that Max complained about it being a show and he was just a clown, then he shows up in an "Elvis" driving suit! 
McLaren said it was a bump in the road that did Lando in, coupled with the cold tires he just lost the back end of the car.
As a local I was glad to see such a good race.
LeClerc's pass was mega.
Hoping the ticket prices are a bit better next year.
A racer friend who was in town said he getting in and out of the track was pretty easy.
are there any real good YouTube reviews of the race ?
The couple I clicked on were from from only one view , I would like to see just a highlight reel from the official race coverage :)

I tend to follow the official F1 page for practice highlights following by watching qualifying and the race either live or recorded. They tend to do a good job at capturing the action in a 5-8 min summary. Unfortunately they have not posted a Vegas breakdown yet
I'm going to take a little different view on the lap1, turn 1 thing. In light of several drivers having trouble with cold tires at the same time, I think the pass would have been clean if his front tires were up to temp. The rears were good having done 5 long burnouts where normally it's 2 long and 1 short, so he got a good jump off the line. (Helps to listen to Max's radio with GP.) The fronts don't really get worked on that long straight and then waiting for the lights. I think he just understeered towards Charles. If nobody else had problems, yeah, all Max. In all, 5 seconds was fair.
