Along those lines
Dorilton wanted Claire Williams to remain

I will be fascinated to see the engine party mode ban result. I can't see it causing Merc the heartburn all their competitors want it to, because Merc is likely the most reliable lump in the field, so they can run it a bit harder anyway.
We shall see.
If you aren't watching qually there's better racing going on as everyone tries to get a slipstream then we will likely see tomorrow. What a E36 M3show though, Vettel starts 17
I get the whole track evolution thing, but the whole Q1 CF is a problem of their own making. When everyone waits until the last available minute and heads out nose to tail, you can't be surprised at the resulting traffic jam.
The way Mercedes is treating this qualifying, this is hilarious. They are not really bothering with a tow, and everyone else is desperate to get one. So much so that the last run was started early by the mercs, catching other teams out.
Seeing the total mess for Q1 and the panic to get on the track in Q3- this was fun to watch. It actually helped that the Mercedes were SO much faster than everyone else.
Oh, and so much for party mode making any difference. Merc is going to tire manage tomorrow, and win by just enough, again.

That was very much an "FU" to the qually mode ban.
Not a lot of surprises besides mclaren being super fast. Merc is still on another planet. RB still stink at Monza. Ferrari still stinks, and Renault are still maddeningly inconsistent.
I think it's clear that Ferrari have stopped supporting Vettel. His rear brake ducts came flying off at the start of the race and his brakes overheated and stopped working. Red Bull should toss Albon now, put Perez in that car and Vettel can go to Racing Point and Ferrari can sit and spin for the rest of the season
Oh man that was a hard hit for leclare. That first safety car just hit shuffle for everything. We'll see what happens when they get out of the red flag.
That was a bad accident for Ferrari- so bad that it will take some time to repair the safety wall.
And to see Mercedes make a clear team mistake on the pit entry- hard to fault Gio and Lewis for missing the lights since the lights are very much not in their sight- they should be looking down track. Both very much deserve the penalties- but they should have known. Hopefully, the FIA and tracks will have a light at Pit Entry to help make it clear.
So with Hamilton and Giovonazzi getting a 10 sec stop-go penalty- this makes it looks really good for Gasly and Sainz. Apparently Norris is under investigation for going too slow.
This will be an interesting podium.
That hit had my stomach dropping until they said he was moving in the cockpit.
It's going to be a bit wild with Lewis having to serve his 10sec stop/go once they're all packed up. I suspect he'll prove that Bottas was just whining about not being able to race with the engine settings.
Wait- they just said Stroll is getting a free pit stop under red???? They are allowed to work on the car under red? since when?
bruceman said:Well Lewis's penalty will make for a very interesting 2nd half of this race! Gasly win?
Here's the question- Lewis has to serve that within 2 laps of the restart- how much of a gap can he get? Seems that he'll be in dead last- or head of Giovonnazi.
