Last day or so I've noticed lots of hang ups and slow responses only on this forum. Not wanting to blame them but seems to be related to the Good-Win ad. In fact I installed an ad blocker browser just to type this.

Yeah, it looks like some of the ads in the background are chewing up memory and cpu causing my browser to become sluggish. Turning on an adblocker (which I don't want to do on GRM) makes the issue go away.
Doesn't seem to be related to one ad over another.

The one that gets my HD to run is the Stanza racing one. Can we stop that?
I appreciate the need for advertising, but that should not be at the expense of the viewers computers slowing down.
Hi guys. I'm going to hit pause on one of the ads that I suspect is causing the issue. Mind turning ad blockers off in a bout 5-10 minutes and letting me know if the issue is fixed?
Ed- I just encountered something odd- I hit "back" and it just reloaded the page. So the ad had "directed" me away.
Looks like the ad we suspected of slowing the site is officially down now. Anyone still having this issue after reloading the page?

Now can you give us the "Last Post" button back. You know the button that takes you to the last post you viewed in a thread. This is literally the only forum I'm on that doesn't have it.
Same here. Ad blocker off and seems to be running MUCH snappier now and not chewing up resources.
Just a quick kudos to Ed (and GRM in general) for jumping on it and figuring out what the issue is without making a huge deal out of it.

Thanks guys. It was not Goodwin. It was an ad that we started serving yesterday. Sorry for the inconvenience.
And Carguy123, we're going to have a small forum update in the near future. I'll see if I can add your request to the list for that update.
Also, the creators of the ad are working on a fix and would like to know what browsers anyone was using when they had the issue. Mind giving us a little feedback?

Please tell me there is a small change coming for the Features drop down. Just a small delay before deployment would be wonderful, even as short as .5 seconds. It's really not a feature when it constantly deploys and covers most of the page, which it does every time the pointer crosses the button.
You'll need to log in to post.
