I had an idea today. I know there is a decent amount of people here who play forza here.
This will all be on the honest system here. Once a week there will be a new car or class to race. It could be a type r with wheels or anything you want. The winner of each week will pick the next car and track to race. The best time wins. Unlimited laps. Just post your best time here by Friday.
For the first race everyone
Stock fiesta ST with rear diff and street tires. On road Atlanta full day time.

Hmm. I might be interested in this, Forza 6 is still my favorite game so far.

Really? I think of the ones I've played (3, 4, a little bit of 5, and 6) 6 is my second-least favorite. Weak car selection, a campaign that's more "You drive what we want you to drive" than the previous "You drive what you want to drive" and somewhat wonky car-handling (Every car has a ludicrous amount of lift-throttle oversteer) conspired to make me only log about 10 hours before moving on
In reply to NickD:
4 was the best of them, 6 is quickly approaching the point of surpassing 4. 5 was obviously too rushed to really be great. 3 had a broken PI system that lead to begging for everything AWD(I admit I had fun slaughtering people with stupid RWD tunes)
I'll have to pop Forza open today and run this one, or I'll do it next week.

In reply to WOW Really Paul?:
I agree that 4 was best. I don't like the move away from the race calendar at all either. But, I'm getting the thread off topic here.
Sorry.
Forza has always been bad. I can't stand the fact that it touts being a sim and yet the best way to win is by making your suspension settings completely unrealistic. In F4 the best way to win was a MR car like the 037 and set your rebound settings to zero. That's right, in real life no rebound makes things better... also the spring rates didn't match the cars. You couldn't have an ae86 on trd spring rates and have it handle good, no you needed 900lb rates (front and back!)
Total garbage.
Regardless of the lack of realism its still fun.
Ill post my times soon.

Wasn't there a time when that was vogue in Autocross as it would effectively make the car sink onto the bumpstops and act as a kart?
Will log a time tomorrow when I can borrow neighbor dudes Xbox one. I still rock forza 4. That said, any info you guys know about the new sim for Xbox one (old pc sim) asseto corsa coming?

my best so far.
1.44.801 is my best thus far, if I do everything perfect it'll probably drop at least another half second.
Okay so two times so far.
I will try to post a time tonight. It'll be my first time participating in one of these so I have a couple of Noob questions:
-
What are the rules on assists? Whatever you want? All off? How about the driving line?
-
How about tunes? Stock? (I have no idea how to tune a car in FM6 so give me some tips if tunes are allowed)

I used to do this in GT4 on another forum.
I think Forza 4 was my favorite, I logged like 160 hours on it. I like 5 and 6, infact 5 was the reason I bought an Xbox One. Have 6 but havent played it much with Witcher 3 and Fallout 4, but I have been toying with the idea of buying a wheel.
If this gains some traction I may have to make a purchase.
Ill try and lay down some laps today, probably pretty rusty been a few months since I played.

Well, in this case in particular, it's a stock car with only street upgrade tires and a 2-way differential. You'll be able to tune the car for tire pressure and differential lockup.
I'll double check tonight when I get home, but I'm pretty sure I was running 28psi/28.5psi F/R and probably around a 42 accel/8 decel on the diff. All these settings depend upon what you feel comfortable with and different assists can change what the car needs. I personally run only one assist, the braking line so I don't completely overshoot corners.
ProTip: switch the clutch & handbrake in your controller settings so you just tap A&X for downshifts, and A&B for upshifts. We've proven manual with clutch is good for between .3 and .5 seconds per lap average as you will accelerate a bit quicker and engine brake better. Lacking ABS is a risk with the reward of being able to brake deeper into a corner but can go horribly awry.

I did something similar to this over on Teckademics with GT4 years ago....I won several rounds of it.

I didnt win E36 M3, because when you look at the quarter of a million people on the leaderboards Im in the top couple percent, but when your on a forum with a bunch of people who actually race and can set a car up, Im pretty terrible.
WOW Really Paul?: Thank you for the great info! Hopefully it'll help somebody else new too.

I should have clarified. My favorite game I own. Bought the XB1 in November, so far I have F6, FH2, Star Wars Battlefront and my old X360 copy of Dirt3. (And mostly just pick random cars and random tracks in F6 in Freeplay.)
In reply to Opti:
If I actually try, I usually end up well within the top 1%, on FM4 I was top 10 around the top gear test track for in a few classes thanks to an Alfa Spider I built and tuned that turned out to be very very quick. It took a few DLC leaderboard specials to knock me down a ways.
I gave it a solid 10 laps or so, and the best I came up with was a 1:46:424
WOW Really Paul? is really fast!
So far the times are Winner will be picked up Friday. This list will be updated.
Barrowcadbury- 1:46:424
Really Paul0-1:44:801
pav5069- 1:47:317
I ran a handful of laps and turned a 1:46.383. This car is a lot trickier to handle than one would think. I've got some time left on the table.
1:44.647 on the third lap.
29/28.5 psi, and 58/1 diff.. Car has no grip on first lap, but comes in nicely.
