Nice, fastest time yet. Is the idea behind the lower tire pressure for the back that the FiST is a little too tail happy to begin with so you are balancing it out by improving traction in the rear?

1:44.521 in lap four, but I threw away .4 at turn 7. You find more time braking early than late, and getting back on the power sooner.
I'm not quite sure how T10 has tires modeled, but lower pressures mean more heat, and more heat means more grip in thr Forza series.
Finally strung enough corners together to get a 1:43.967. I have the thirty second clip up under my gamertag.

Mine was, and it's most likely my LB time for that class.
The track selection will also favor anyone whom is used to running fried corrado's lobby, as 80% of those races seem to take place at Road Atlanta...
Oh Boy, I have a lot of learning to do. 5 laps in I've only managed 1:53.266
It's my 3rd time ever playing a Forza game other than Horizon 2 and in real life I do RallyCross and Stage not this weird pavement stuff
Well that's good, there should be some easy gains to be made before Friday.

Like I said, this car likes early braking, and in as straight a line as possible. The more you can do to keep the car stable, the better. I wish I had a way for you to follow my ghost around here, but I've already set a time at every track (except VIR) in E and D class. You can see the last 30 secs. of my run by searching racerfink and looking at my XBox recorded clips.
So my buddie asked, does this include any "mods" or whatever the little perks are that you can add before you race?
Best was 1:49.something I'll have to check our "leader board" cough pencil on the wall cough

Use of mods instantly flags the laps it is used for as dirty.
1.52.037 with the race diff (assuming that's the right one). Mods didn't dirty my lap (maybe they do if you're using ones that affect your braking/grip/weight)
Thoughts for next week/future events;
If we all friend each other, you can view the track leaderboard, sorted by friends. Granted this would only work if you don't race on the current weeks track and post a faster time in a different car. OR we can keep posting our best time every day that we give it a shot.
Use the exact terms that F6 uses when setting up a challenge as far as part terms.
Edit the first post with current lap times (if we don't go by the ingame friends leaderboard), the current weeks track/car/upgrade restrictions and list the car as "D 373" (for example, to make sure everyones on the same page with upgrades)
Thanks to WOW Really Paul?'s setup he posted earlier in this thread I posted a lap time of 1.47.982.
So feel free to keep sharing the tunes you guys are running :)
The mods will only dirty the lap if it posts to the leaderboards. If you already have a faster time up for that class, it won't matter.
I ran my time in test session. No mods allowed in that, and I even posted the last 30 secs of my lap to my gamertag.
1:45.949
And, I know if I'm able to blow enough rust off, I could shave a few tenths off that, but didn't have the time this week.
I improved my 1:53.266 to a 1:49.814 so I might still be last depending on chiodos's exact time but at least it's not embarrassing anymore. Thanks for all the tips guys, they helped a lot.
From a beginner's perspective I just want to say I can't believe how much my traction improved once the tires warmed up! racer fink mentioned that would happen but the effect was huge.
What is everyone's gamer tag? racerfink is "racerfink" And I am "madpanda racing"
What's everybody else?
In reply to 1kris06:
Glad it helped a bit, everyone will prefer slightly different setups. I prefer some tail happiness with a hint of initial understeer.
My most challenging corner when doing this was actually accelerating out of the one that takes you up the hill under the walk bridge
mtx95sho
No tinkering with setup, not smart enough for that.
1.49.138.
Ran a 1.50 in traffic, got flagged cause i bumped a guys bumper. Get clear of traffic and can only muster .9 better. I think im faster in traffic.
Could probably shave a second on front half, kept getting up but unable to duplicate my best back half of track.
Does anyone else completely ignore the braking zone in turn 5. Seems like i can lift for just a second and immediately get back on it and stay on track. Shaved about a second conpared to the in game braking zone.
Not gonna have time for more by deadline so hopefully deadpanda cant shave 7 tenths.
My gamertag is Optispark6
I never completed a lap. I was cool with BMW E36 tires, but can't stand the berkeleying transmission taking two seconds to find a gear.
In reply to Opti:
You can run in Rivals mode so that you don't have to deal with traffic.
And the braking line will tell you to brake in some pretty weird places on a lot of tracks. I run without it, as it tends to take your eyes away from 'looking' ahead (as much as you can look ahead into a 3D image on a 2D screen).
I'm braking a good bit for T5, which tells me I'm probably carrying more speed through T3. T1 is another good place to make time, as most people brake too late for it, and have to wait a ling time to get back on the power.
1:44.554 is my newest best, if I can figure out the backstretch braking zone with this car I could probably match Fink.
Edit: Lowered tire pressures to 26.5/26.5 and ticked off a 1:44.153 on the second lap......It's hard to drive, but damn does it like the sweeping corners.
