So I was walking down a forest trail to the beach the other day and I came across this,
Anybody know what it is?
I was thinking maybe an old saab 4 dr but it seems a bit too different than a 99. Maybe something Japanese?

not a saab... not sure what it is.
I remember years ago going around a mountain on an old road.. half way around there was a car that had obviously fallen from a great hight (there was another road that went around the mountain higher up..) and had landed on it's roof and crushed it in.
No idea how long it had been there
This trail got fairly narrow, it started off wide and gravel but narrows down and gets kind of steep and muddy if it was wet. Probably just wide enough for the car before it went over the edge. It looked fairly new as it wasn't really over grown or super rust. It looks like someone even striped a few parts off.
I win! Corona liftback
Reminds me of the story about the 1967 GTO sitting at the bottom of a canyon in Cyprus. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2977864
When I was a kid the area where I grew up was very rural. Up on top of a large hill/ small mountain (In fact it was called Pine Mountain) there was an old homestead. My self and friends would make a day of hiking to the top of the mountain to explore. We would look for different ways to the top. I personally counted 4 different cars in the middle of thickly wooded areas with no roads or trails. These were usually old 4 door late 40's early 50's Chevys or Fords. I don’t remember ever seeing any Dodges. We always wondered how the cars got there and would make up stories, like an old moon shiner running from the Revenuers or some amorous couple that got stuck. I have since moved back to the area and it has been over developed or I would find them again and take pictures.
I think your right about the corona. The rear hatch and rear door glass looks really similar. I don't imagine any super rare or expensive parts can be pillages from it then?

Someone's really bad day!
Yeah, I was gonna say 1980-vintage Corona as well.
When I was a kid I used to ride my XR-75 dirt bike all over the backwoods trails of Chester County PA. Out in the middle of nowhere was the rusted carcass of a Lincoln Zephyr, of all things. This was in territory I'd doubt your average stock 4x4 could get to. I never ever found any explanation for it being there.
Looks like an A10 chassis Datsun 510 4-door hatchback. Maybe a 80-83 vintage. Looks a bit like my 78 two-door coupe with the hatch back, but the taillights are different.
